How to report an error

Email [email protected] with the page URL and what is wrong. Anything specific enough to check gets checked: a headline attributed to the wrong ticker, a filing parsed with the wrong number, a price that does not match the tape, an explainer that describes a move that did not happen.

What we do about it

Data errors — a bad price, a mis-parsed filing, a wrong date — are fixed at the source: we correct the parser or the ingestion, and the page reflects it on its next render. Because these pages are generated from live data rather than hand-written, a fixed parser corrects every affected page at once, not just the one that was reported.

Tagging and scoring errors — a story filed under the wrong ticker or category — are corrected on the item, and where the same mistake would recur we change the filter or the model's grounding rules rather than only patching the instance.

Written explainers are regenerated or removed. If an article's central claim about why a stock moved is wrong, we do not quietly rewrite it into something else and leave the URL looking untouched: the page carries a note that it was corrected, with the date.

Removals. We remove a page outright when its subject matter turns out to be false rather than merely imprecise. Aggregated third-party headlines are a special case: we do not silently delete a publisher's headline from the archive because the publisher later revised it, since the record of what crossed the wire and when is part of what this site is for. Where we know a story was retracted upstream, we say so.

Timing

Reports are handled in the order they arrive, usually within one business day. There is no correction queue held open for review: this is a small operation, and a fix ships when it is written.

Scope

We correct our own output — our data, our tags, our scores, our articles. We cannot correct the third-party articles we link to. If a publisher's own story is wrong, that correction belongs with them, and their URL is one click away on every headline we carry.
